Hello my name is Mariam Akinlotan! I am originally from Brooklyn, New York but I live in Houston, Tx. I am a proud Yoruba Nigerian-American who attends Texas Southern University. I am a junior studying Health Administration which I enjoy and love. But of course my 2nd love and passion is dancing and acting. When it comes to entertainment as whole I believe it's art and very unique, it's a way to express yourself in any way shape or form and create a masterpiece.in Houston, Tx. This year, I am excited to bring the expertise of ASA into our production. The awesome and talented individuals of ASA Dance Team under the direction of Mariam Akinlotan came to one rehearsal for CIC and brought everything together! We had been working for months just to get this piece done and having them on board made everything come together perfectly and naturally! I am excited to have them working with me and looking forward to many more events with Mariam and her team! Thank you!
African Student Association
As an organization our job is to embrace our African Culture to the African community here in Texas as well as the Texas Southern University student body as a whole. We want to establish a relationship between the world with understanding and communication that may be a connection through different cultures and languages to a more equal society!
